Weekly Lane Closure Advisory for the Interstate 85 @ State Route 42/North Druid Hills Project
WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes around Interstate 85 at State Route (SR) 42/North Druid Hills Road for construction activities.

*NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown usingred text.

Closures marked with ** are in conflict - Only one of these closures will be implemented.

WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-85 and SR 42 from July 25, through August 3, 2025

Daytime Closures:

Saturday, July 26, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • One, right lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road
Saturday, August 2, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • One, left lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road
Overnight Closures:

Friday, July 25, 9 p.m. to Saturday, July 26, 6 a.m.
  • Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road
Monday, July 28, through Sunday, August 3, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road (starts at 9 p.m.)
  • Pacing on SR 42/North Druid Hills eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road (ends Wednesday) (starts 9 p.m.)
  • One, right lane on I-85 southbound at SR-42/ North Druid Hills Road from Lenox Road to Clairmont Road (ends Wednesday)

  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on Corporate Drive to I-85 southbound should use I-85 southbound Frontage Road, SR 42/North Druid Hills Road, I-85 northbound Frontage Road, and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound (starts Wednesday | ends Friday) (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on I-85 northbound to North Druid Hills Road westbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road (Exit 89 B) and I-85 southbound Frontage Road to access SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound.
SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 northbound (starts Friday | ends Saturday) (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to I-85 northbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 northbound.
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound to I-85 northbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 northbound.
SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 northbound Frontage Road (starts Friday) (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 northbound Frontage Road should use I-85 northbound, Clairmont Road, and I-85 southbound Frontage Road to access I-85 northbound Frontage Road.
