ATLANTA - State Representative Lydia Glaize (D-Fairburn) was recently appointed by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve as a member of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on the Impact of Online Platforms on Georgia Youth.
"The responsibility of online safety for children belongs to all sectors of our society," said Rep. Glaize. "The Georgia legislature is ready to take on our part of this responsibility through our bipartisan House Blue-Ribbon study committee. Let's put guardrails where needed and take a step in the right direction to better protect Georgia's youth."
The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on the Impact of Online Platforms on Georgia Youth will evaluate the effects of online platforms on minors to strengthen safety protections, address mental health concerns and promote age-appropriate access to online content.
Speaker Burns also appointed the following study committee members: House Speaker Pro Tem Jan Jones (R-Milton), State Representatives Rob Clifton (R-Evans), Johnny Chastain (R-Blue Ridge), Todd Jones (R-South Forsyth), Brad Thomas (R-Holly Springs), Anne Allen Westbrook (D-Savannah), Debra Bazemore (D-South Fulton), Tangie Herring (D-Macon) and Shawn Conroy, Consumer Protection Division, Georgia Attorney General's Office.

Representative Lydia Glaize represents the citizens of District 67, which includes portions of Coweta and Fulton counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, Education and Higher Education committees.
