Today, the Pace Library celebrated the grand opening of its new meeting room with a ribbon cutting ceremony, joined by the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, county staff, the Friends of the Pace Library and members of the community. The new space is located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd., in Pace.
"This meeting space will provide an improved library experience for patrons and staff," said Lori O'Gara, Santa Rosa County Library Director. "It will allow the library staff to offer program opportunities that were not possible before. Also, local non profit groups, book clubs, and other groups in the community will have a safe place to meet. The library staff and I are thankful to the citizens of Santa Rosa County and the Friends of the Pace Library for their support of this addition to the Library. "
Funded by local sales tax dollars, the new meeting room will serve as a valuable space for public programs, community events, and much more - furthering the library's role as a hub for learning and connection.
"Big thanks to our staff-especially the facilities team-for all their hard work getting this project done," said Commissioner Bobby Burkett, District 1. "This meeting room is something our community really needed, and I'm glad to see it finally come together."
Since opening its doors on April 12, 2007, the Pace Library has been a cornerstone of learning and engagement for the Pea Ridge/Pace community. With more than 23,000 registered patrons and roughly 70,000 visits each year, the library continues to strive to meet the needs of its users.
Meeting rooms at Santa Rosa County libraries are available for library programs as well as use by Santa Rosa County-based non-profit groups, government agencies, and individuals hosting events for educational, cultural, civic or charitable purposes.
