Now Open: Las Olas Boulevard Between SE 16th Avenue and Nurmi Drive

Road restoration has been completed. All lanes of Eas Olas Blvd have fully reopened to traffic. We thank our neighbors for their patience during this emergency repair.

Update: Thursday, June 5 at 11:08 a.m.

The contractor is on site working on restoration activities. We thank our neighbors for their continued patience as we work to restore the roadway and reopen all lanes of Las Olas Boulevard.

Update: Wednesday, June 4 at 12:07 p.m.

Due to the inclement weather conditions, the contractor has not been able to start the site restoration today.

The traffic impacts described below remain in effect until the road restoration is fully completed.

Update: Wednesday, June 4 at 9:21 a.m.

The contractor is on site attempting to restore the asphalt to a safe driving condition, weather permitting.

Update: Tuesday, June 3 at 2:36 p.m.

Road restoration activities will continue until 6 p.m. today and resume at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4. Until the road restoration is completed, the following traffic impacts are in effect:

  • One westbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard is closed from Nurmi Drive to South Gordon Road.
  • Westbound traffic is shifted to the south side of Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Venice Drive to South Gordon Road where one lane is open in each direction.
  • One eastbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard is closed from SE 16th Avenue to San Marco Drive.
  • Traffic exiting the following isles on the north side of Las Olas Boulevard can only turn right / westbound: South Gordon Road, Hendricks Isle, Isle of Venice Drive, Fiesta Way and Nurmi Drive.
  • Traffic exiting the following isles on the south side of Las Olas Boulevard can only turn right / eastbound: Isle of Capri Drive, Bontona Avenue, Coconut Isle Drive, Lido Drive, San Marco Drive and Coral Way.

Drivers should follow posted signs, drive with caution and seek alternate routes if possible.

Update: Tuesday, June 3 at 1:20 p.m.

The repair has been completed, and water service has been restored to all impacted properties. Any neighbors that are still experiencing interruptions to water service should contact the City's customer service team at 954-828-8000.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until drinking water test results pass bacteriological testing for two consecutive days.

Road restoration is underway. The traffic impacts described below will remain in effect until the roadway is restored.

The contractor is on site and preparing to begin excavation of the work area. The water main is scheduled to be shut down at 9 a.m. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their continued patience.

Heavy rainfall at the repair site today made conditions unsuitable for immediate work. The repair will resume tomorrow morning once the location of nearby utilities can be confirmed.

The work site has been secured and will be monitored continuously throughout the night to ensure safety. The traffic impacts described below will remain in effect until the repair is completed and the area is deemed safe for vehicular traffic.

City crews are working with a contractor to respond to a damaged air release valve on a 16-inch water main along Las Olas Boulevard near South Gordon Road.

While crews are in the area, the following traffic impacts are in effect:

  • One westbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard is closed from Nurmi Drive to South Gordon Road.
  • Westbound traffic is shifted to the south side of Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Venice Drive to South Gordon Road where one lane is open in each direction.
  • One eastbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard is closed from SE 16th Avenue to San Marco Drive.
