It was a very busy week in Washington. As Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I presided over a 26 hour-long committee meeting where we debated a major piece of legislation that will reauthorize the State Department for the first in more than 20 years. It's long overdue that Congress takes a good, hard look at how rogue diplomats at the State Department have spent our taxpayer dollars in the last two decades. We will no longer fund or support foreign programs that don't put America first.
Also this week, I am proud to announce that my bill, the Servicemembers Residence Protection Act, unanimously passed the House. With it now off to the Senate, we are one step closer to helping our service members keep squatters out of their homes.
