I-79 south to close temporarily between Elkview and Big Chimney the night of Thursday, June 12, 2025
Interstate 79 South will be closed between Elkview (Exit 9) and Big Chimney (Exit 5), from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, to install a steel plate on the US Army SPC Guy R. Hively Memorial Bridge.
During installation, traffic will be detoured onto US 119 between Elkview and Big Chimney.
Work is being done at night to minimize the impact to the traveling public.
