Myles Calvert, director of Alfred University's Institute for Electronic Arts, School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics, has been appointed president of the Southern Graphics Council International SGCI).
This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for SGCI, as it embraces new directions and fresh energy. Calvert's appointment signals a forward-thinking approach to fostering community, creativity, and collaboration across the diverse fields of print, drawing, and graphic media.
The conference has frequently been attended by Expanded Media students under the guidance of SOAD faculty members Joseph Scheer and William Contino. It has been held in a variety of locations, including Atlanta, Portland, Las Vegas, and most recently Puerto Rico.
