The University of Minnesota Crookston is pleased to announce Dave Roberts as the next Director of Residential Life. Roberts began his new role on campus in May 2025.
U of M Crookston has been ranked as having the #1 best dorms in the state and Roberts will oversee all aspects of residential life, including operations, programs, and student development.
Roberts recently served as the director of housing and campus operations in Fergus Falls, Minn. for Minnesota State Community and Technical College plus an interim role as the director of athletics. He previously served as the assistant dean for student affairs at the University of Nebraska in Kearney and as the assistant director of residence life at Dakota State University in Madison, S.D.
"I am thrilled to join the University of Minnesota at Crookston as the Director of Residential Life," said Roberts. "When I first visited campus, it was clear that this is a special place where students, faculty, and staff truly care. I look forward to contributing to an already outstanding department and, most importantly, serving the students."
"There are many exciting things happening at the University of Minnesota at Crookston, and I am ready to get to work," he added.
Roberts received his bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Mich. and his master's degree in public administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D. While serving as the hall director at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. he was awarded the National Society of Collegiate Scholars recognition for Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.
