Colt Ford Shares Surgery Update Following Bus Crash

Colt Ford is "focused on resting, recovering, and getting back to doing what he loves," after a recent tour bus crash.

Ford, 56, revealed this week that his bus crashed in a ditch, and first responders pulled him out of the windshield. The country artist suffered a broken shoulder, and said "the crew is a little banged up but we're all still here."

Ford "successfully underwent shoulder surgery today to address injuries sustained in the recent bus accident. We're happy to share that the surgery went well, and Colt is now focused on resting, recovering, and getting back to doing what he loves," reads a statement posted on the country star's Instagram account on Friday afternoon (August 14).

Several upcoming performance dates have been postponed or canceled "to give Colt the time he needs to properly recover," the statement continued. Those performances include:

  • August 19 - Des Moines, IA
  • August 21 - LaGrande, GA
  • August 22 - Athens, GA
  • August 27 - Nashville, TN
  • August 29 - Altamont, IL

Fans should contact the venue or point of purchase for refunds and additional information, according to the statement shared on Ford's social media on Friday afternoon.

"Colt is incredibly grateful for all of the prayers, messages, and support he's received. We know he hates missing any opportunity to be on stage with his fans, but right now, his health and recovery have to come first. We appreciate everyone's understanding and continued support as Colt focuses on his recovery. We'll share additional updates as they become available."
