The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Armenia, Lee Seok-bae, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his post and wished him productive work for the benefit of the development of Armenian-Korean relations.
Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of the Ambassador's personal experience and knowledge of the region, noting that they could significantly contribute to deepening bilateral cooperation.
He also noted that the Republic of Armenia attaches great importance to developing relations with the countries of East Asia, particularly highlighting cooperation with the Republic of Korea, and stressed that there is considerable potential for implementing joint programs, especially in the fields of high technologies, energy, culture, and tourism.
Ambassador Lee Seok-bae expressed gratitude for the warm reception, emphasizing that the Republic of Korea values cooperation with Armenia and supports Armenia's efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ways and opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of energy, high technologies, and several other areas, emphasizing the need for consistent and purposeful efforts toward fully realizing the existing potential for cooperation.
The sides also highlighted the importance of steps being taken to strengthen democratic institutions, reinforce the rule of law, and preserve universal values as a foundation for stable and effective cooperation.
During the conversation, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of further strengthening and deepening already established ties in education, tourism, culture, and other people-centered fields, viewing them as important factors in deepening mutual understanding between the peoples and developing long-term partnership.
