PitchBook's 2025 Global League Tables have ranked Lowenstein Sandler among the most active law firms for venture capital and emerging company transactions in both the United States and globally.
The firm received high rankings across 25 categories, including Early Stage, Late Stage, M&A deals, Exits, VC deals, Most Active globally, Most Active in the U.S., and Most Active in the U.S. for the combined category of M&A, VC, and Private Equity deals; as well as in almost all ranked sectors, including in Software, Healthcare Services & Systems, Hardware, Media, and more. It was ranked in seven geographical regions across the U.S. (including among the most active on the West Coast and Mid-Atlantic, reflecting Lowenstein's decades of experience in venture and venture-backed M&A in the New York area, as well as Silicon Valley and San Francisco).
"These PitchBook rankings reflect the depth of Lowenstein's ECVC experience and leadership in advising the startups, growth companies, and investors driving innovation across key industries and global markets," said Anthony Pergola, Vice Chair and co-founder of the firm's Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) Group.
Lowenstein's strength in emerging companies and venture capital-built over more than 25 years since Ed Zimmerman and Pergola co-founded the firm's ECVC Group in the late 1990s-has made it a leading platform for representing startups and venture funds. The firm's deep relationships with U.S. and international venture investors, including leading funds and founders from France, the U.K., Germany, the Nordics, and across Europe, Israel, and Africa, reflect the global nature of today's venture ecosystem.
Over the past 24 months, Lowenstein's ECVC Group has added seven lateral partners, primarily in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and New York. As the firm continues expanding its Bay Area presence, it remains committed to an entrepreneurial culture and to serving startup and growth-company clients.
