Infrastructure Upgrades Add Reliability for Today and Tomorrow

When you pay your water bill, you are funding critical investments to ensure safe, reliable water for today and tomorrow. From canal improvements to upgraded pipelines and treatment systems, these projects strengthen service across our entire water system.

Delta Intake Motor Replacement

Five large motors installed in 1996 at the Old River Pump Station are being replaced with new models for greater long-term reliability in untreated water delivery.

Pipeline Replacement Project in Concord

Crews recently replaced more than 3 miles of aging water pipeline to prevent costly and disruptive leaks and added hydrants to improve neighborhood fire safety.

Canal Replacement Project in Oakley

The final segment of the Canal Replacement Project is underway along East Cypress Road in Oakley. This multi-year effort replaced the first four miles of the Contra Costa Canal, originally constructed without a concrete liner, with a buried pipeline to improve water quality and public safety.

Chlorine Conversion in Oakley

To reduce safety risks, CCWD is converting the chlorine gas system to safer chemicals at the Randall-Bold Water Treatment Plant.

Canal Slope Repairs in Antioch

Crews are stabilizing slopes in two locations in Antioch, fixing storm damage from early 2023 and protecting this critical facility that delivers source water to treatment plants throughout eastern and central Contra Costa County.
