EUCAP Somalia Concludes Basic Maritime English Training in Bosaso

EUCAP Somalia Field Office Puntland has successfully concluded its Basic Maritime English (Level 1) course in Bosaso, with seventeen participants completing the training. The course equipped them with essential language skills to communicate more clearly and confidently during maritime operations.

EUCAP Somalia Field Office Puntland has successfully concluded its Basic Maritime English (Level 1) course in Bosaso, with seventeen participants completing the training. The course equipped them with essential language skills to communicate more clearly and confidently during maritime operations.

Throughout the training, participants were introduced to basic professional English, IMO Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP), wheel and helm orders, ship terminology, and effective communication in safety and emergency situations. These competencies are designed to strengthen teamwork, improve coordination, and enhance safety at sea.

This graduation represents another important milestone in strengthening Puntland's maritime sector. Through initiatives like this, EUCAP Somalia continues to support the long-term development of maritime agencies and institutions in Puntland, contributing to safer, more efficient, and more professional maritime operations.
