Frostburg State University's Department of Music, Theatre and Dance welcomes students with previous instrumental playing experience to join the University's Wind Ensemble and Marching Band for the fall semester.
Openings are available in Wind Ensemble (MUSC 330) and Marching Band (MUSC 329). Students who play wind or percussion instruments, as well as electric guitar, keyboards, electric bass or drum set, are encouraged to participate. No audition is required; students simply need previous playing experience and can enroll by adding the one-credit course to their class schedule.
This year, the Marching Band will feature a new structure as a pep band, or "bleacher band," bringing energetic musical performances and a lively atmosphere to home football games.
For more information about the Wind Ensemble or Marching Band, contact Director of Bands Peter Lewis at PAC 208, 301-687-7452 or [email protected].
The Department of Music, Theatre and Dance also offers a variety of other instrumental and choral ensembles open to students, including jazz, percussion and University Chorale. Many ensembles do not require an audition, providing students with an opportunity to continue making music while becoming part of the vibrant arts community at FSU.
