NOPD Investigating Homicide in Second District
The NOPD is investigating a homicide that was reported today (March 4, 2025) in the 2800 block of Monticell0 Avenue.
At about 10:32 a.m., NOPD Second District officers were dispatched to a call of an abandoned vehicle at the location. Upon arrival, officers investigated and locating an unresponsive adult male inside of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the subject had sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to identify the deceased victim officially. Announcement of this information will come from the Coroner's Office.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information. No additional details are currently available.
