Gillen Statement on Hostage Release and Peace Agreement

Rockville Centre, NY - On Monday, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement after hostages were released from Hamas captivity:

"I'm relieved and overjoyed that after 738 days, the hostages are finally coming home and the war and suffering caused by Hamas terrorists on October 7th is over. Over the past two years, I have met with hostage families and heard firsthand the pain they have felt every day since their loved ones were taken captive. We will never forget the horrific October 7th terrorist attack against Israel and must ensure that Hamas is never able to repeat it.

"I applaud President Trump and his Administration for securing this important agreement that reunites the hostages with their families, implements a ceasefire and surges humanitarian aid. I hope that this agreement continues to be upheld and paves the way for a better and more peaceful future for the region."
