DALLAS - The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved a $6.2 billion bond proposal that will go to voters in May. Developed with community input through more than 65 steering committee meetings, the plan includes building 26 replacement schools, modernizing all campuses, upgrading safety and technology, removing portables, and refinancing existing debt to redirect more resources to classrooms.

Students celebrate Black voices and leadership
Thomas C. Marsh Preparatory Academy will host a read-in event at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 20, celebrating literacy and leadership and the power of storytelling. Black community leaders will visit the campus to share stories and inspire students through engaging read-alouds. The celebration will also include a student gallery walk showcasing artwork from Dallas ISD students, highlighting creativity and cultural pride across the district.
Dallas ISD earns top architectural honor
Dallas ISD is joining the prestigious 2025-2026 Caudill Class, the highest honor awarded through the Exhibit of School Architecture program, for two of its newly renovated schools both funded by the 2020 Bond Program. Career Institute North transformed a tornado-damaged campus into a state-of-the-art career and technical education center serving five high schools, while Geneva Heights Elementary School was reimagined to preserve its historic character alongside modern, student-centered learning spaces.
