New 18b Las Vegas Arts District Parking Garage Set To Open In September

City Shares Information On Garage And Additional Parking Updates

The city of Las Vegas has shared updates on parking in the 18b Las Vegas Arts District including the news that a new 500-space garage will open at 1421 S. Casino Center Blvd. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9:30 a.m.

The $25 million garage brings 500 much-needed spots to the Arts District, helping to free up limited street parking options in the popular neighborhood. The garage also features space for new businesses to lease and will be decorated with a large mural.

City staff provided updates on the garage and additional changes to parking in the Arts District at a public meeting this evening. The updates come following the city receiving and reviewing public comments, including comments from a previous public meeting with artists, residents, employees, business owners and property owners in the Arts District.

The updates below all go into effect Oct. 1, 2026, unless otherwise noted. The Arts District and parking will continue to evolve, and the city will continue its dialogue with stakeholders to improve services.

  • The new Arts District Parking Garage - The garage is set to open Sept. 29, 2026, and will be $3 an hour with a daily maximum of $15. The garage is in the heart of the Arts District and is a short walk to many businesses and attractions. The city is also reviewing options for shuttle service to and from the garage.
  • Free street parking Monday through Friday from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. - The city heard from many stakeholders asking for more free street parking during the day. In response, the city is replacing the free lunch spot program that offered three free hours of parking to free parking all morning and over the lunch hour.
  • Monthly parking passes for residents and employees in the Arts District will be available in the new parking garage and at a discounted rate at 10-hour street parking spots - The city will offer residents and employees in the Arts District a $30 monthly parking pass, which will allow for parking in the new Arts District garage. In addition, the city will offer $20 monthly passes for the 10-hour street parking spots in the Arts District.
  • Paid street parking north of Charleston Boulevard will not be implemented before January 2027 - The city has commissioned a parking rate survey for the Arts District North of Charleston to gather data before a decision is made on rates there. There are many business and residential developments coming into that area, and paid street parking ensures that there is space turnover for those coming down to frequent the businesses in the area.
  • Payment Options - The city received feedback that customers had different preferences on how they want to pay for parking. To accommodate, the city allows payment in many forms including on street, by text and through multiple apps including Parkwhiz, Flowbird and Park Mobile.
  • Paid street parking will be in effect from 1 p.m. until 12 a.m. the following day Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday paid parking will be in effect from 8 a.m. to midnight - This schedule allows the city to offer free street parking until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Arts District.

The city's goal is to balance customer access, business needs and affordable parking options for all, while preserving the unique character that makes the Arts District special.
