Two 17-Year-Olds Arrested for Last Friday Night's Shooting of East Nashville Woman at S. 10th St & Shelby Avenue

Specialized Investigations Division TITANS detectives today arrested Lamontez McKnight, 17, on charges of especially aggravated robbery and attempted criminal homicide for last Friday night's critical shooting of a 28-year-old East Nashville woman. McKnight was taken into custody at the Nashville alternative charter school he was attending.

The investigation by the Non-Lethal Shooting Unit shows the victim and her 26-year-old female friend were walking from a home on S. 10th Street to a night spot when they were approached by two teenagers. One pulled a pistol and demanded their belongings. After the 26-year-old's purse was forcibly taken, the 28-year-old resisted and was shot. The teens ran away. The victim was transported to Vanderbilt where she underwent multiple surgeries.

McKnight is the alleged shooter in this case. The gun has not been recovered.

McKnight's accomplice, Deshawn Harlan, 17, was taken into custody outside his 35th Avenue North home by TITANS detectives Tuesday night. He is also charged with attempted criminal homicide and two counts of especially aggravated robbery.

Both McKnight and Harlan are being held in juvenile detention pending hearings.
