NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 24, 2025) - Get ready for a fantastic fall weekend in New Brunswick with two free events you won't want to miss!
First up is the City of New Brunswick's Harvest Festival tomorrow, Oct. 25, from noon to 4 p.m. It's a perfect event for the whole family. Head over to the Youth Sports Complex at 411 Joyce Kilmer Ave. to enjoy: pony rides, a petting zoo, amusements, a pumpkin patch and delicious food and more.
Then, get ready to raise your stein and shout "Prost!" at City Center's annual Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday, Oct. 26, from noon to 7 p.m. All are invited to join the fun on George Street near Monument Square Park at 2 Livingston Ave., for this vibrant celebration of music, food, and community.
If you're feeling strong, you can participate in the steinholding competition. Contestants hold a full one-liter beer stein in front of their bodies, with the arm straight and parallel to the ground. The last person holding the five-pound stein with proper form is the winner.
According to the U.S. Steinholding Association (and, yes, that is a thing), the national record is 24 minutes, 14 seconds. So, maybe history will be made Sunday in New Brunswick.
Partygoers are also encouraged to get into the Oktoberfest spirit by wearing their best dirndl or lederhosen. For the complete lineup of events, go here.
