ISPA joins roundtable with Chancellor for Telecoms Consumer Charter

Today our Chair, Steven Leighton, joined the Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Technology Secretary Liz Kendall at Number 11 Downing Street for a roundtable with major UK telecoms providers to discuss consumer pricing and the new Telecoms Consumer Charter.

ISPA is proud to support the Charter, which builds on the range of pro-consumer regulatory reforms that our members are already putting in place and makes it easier for customers, particularly those on low incomes, to understand what they will pay and to access social tariffs. Existing measures include affordability support and social tariffs to device donation schemes and digital upskilling, alongside easier switching than ever before.

The discussion also highlighted the need to tackle barriers to rollout and reduce regulatory duplication. ISPA will continue to work with our members to set out to government where regulation can be streamlined while maintaining strong consumer protections and supporting investment.

We look forward to continuing to work with government and Ofcom to ensure connectivity remains a national priority and delivers for consumers.
