Glasgow, UK -

Morgan Stanley is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Glasgow office, marking a quarter-century of growth, innovation, and community partnership in Scotland. To commemorate this significant milestone, the Firm has hosted a series of events throughout the year, including a drinks reception with Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), attended by First Minister John Swinney, SFE CEO Sandy Begbie and Vida Rudkin, Head of Morgan Stanley Glasgow.

A highlight of the anniversary celebrations is the unveiling of a bespoke tartan, created in partnership with The House of Edgar. Revealed today at a special event held at Morgan Stanley's Glasgow office, the Morgan Stanley tartan was commissioned to mark the 25th Anniversary of the opening of the Firm's office in Glasgow; and the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Firm.  Inspired by our brand colours, the tartan honours each occasion with a 25-thread black stripe, and two blocks of blue, totalling 90 threads. It also uses six colours to represent the original number of employees in the Glasgow office.

The tartan will be further celebrated at a Reception hosted by the Leader of the Council at Glasgow City Chambers on September 25, in collaboration with Glasgow City Council and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The event coincides with Glasgow's 850th anniversary as a city, adding further significance to the occasion.

"Celebrating 25 years in Glasgow is a proud moment for Morgan Stanley. Since we opened our office with six colleagues in 2000, it has grown into one of our most important centres in EMEA, with over 2,000 people serving clients and businesses across our global network. We're deeply grateful to the talented individuals in Glasgow whose contributions continue to help strengthen our firm," said Clare Woodman, Head of EMEA, Latin America and Canada & CEO of Morgan Stanley International.

Since its opening in 2000, Morgan Stanley's Glasgow office has become one of the Firm's largest European operations, supporting a wide range of global functions including technology, finance, operations, legal, and compliance. The office is also a leader in community engagement, supporting local charities, education initiatives, and sustainability programmes.

"Morgan Stanley is proud to call Glasgow its home. We've benefitted enormously from the exceptional talent in Scotland - without it, the Glasgow office wouldn't be the success it is today. Commissioning a tartan felt like a uniquely Scottish way to celebrate our journey - one that recognises our people, our culture, and our deep connection to this city," said Vida Rudkin, Head of Morgan Stanley Glasgow.

The tartan has been registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans and will serve as a lasting symbol of Morgan Stanley's commitment to Scotland and its people.
