Chancellor Olaf Scholz cancels Mexico visit due to political developments in Germany
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received a diplomatic note from the Federal Republic of Germany stating that "due to domestic political circumstances," they regret having to cancel Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit scheduled for November 20.
Chancellor Scholz conveyed the same regrets in a letter to President Sheinbaum.
The visit, which had been proposed and confirmed by Chancellor Scholz's government, has been cancelled as Germany moves to hold early elections next year due to recent political developments.
