On July 1, 2026, the Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA) of Japan proposed revisions to Japan's maximum residue levels (MRLs) for 5 agricultural chemicals (Boscalid, Chlorothalonil, Pyrifluquinazon, Tolfenpyrad, and Imidacloprid) applicable to various agricultural commodities. Furthermore, the CAA proposed revoking MRLs for 28 pesticides. Additionally, the CAA proposed revising the food additive specifications for Fructosyl Transferase and Glutaminase. By July 20, 2026, interested U.S. parties can submit comments to

[email protected] for processed products. The CAA will also notify the proposed revisions to the World Trade Organization.
