Summit seeks to amend pipeline permit

Summit Carbon Solutions last week filed a petition with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC) to amend its original carbon pipeline permit.

The proposed changes include increasing the pipe diameter on certain segments to accommodate additional ethanol plants in Phase 2 of the project and adding an ethanol plant near Denison.

Overall, the project proposes to capture and transport up to 18 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from Iowa ethanol plants and industrial facilities for underground sequestration.
