Scaling up bioethanol for clean cooking in Tanzania: Lessons from UNIDO and KOKO Networks for Sustainable Adoption
Abstract
This study explores the scalability of bioethanol as a clean cooking fuel in Tanzania, with a focus on the UNIDO Bioethanol and Clean Cooking Programme, while drawing comparisons with KOKO Networks' expansion in Kenya. It evaluates the feasibility of large-scale bioethanol adoption within Tanzania's socio-economic and cultural landscape, identifies key barriers and enablers, examines the role of multi-stakeholder coordination, and contrasts the scale-up strategies of UNIDO and KOKO Networks.
