CHICAGO - Aug. 18, 2025 - Keith Shapiro, co-founder of the Chicago office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was inducted into the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA)'s fifth class of Distinguished Fellows. This recognition is awarded to members who have shown commitment to client service and lasting impact in the field of corporate restructuring.
AIRA's board of directors established the Distinguished Fellows Program to honor the contributions that senior members have made to the art and science of corporate restructuring. The program serves as an academic and professional distinction, recognizing members whose efforts have created a lasting and positive impact on both the profession and organization.
Shapiro has over 40 years of experience representing key participants in complex corporate restructurings and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. He is the co-founder of the firm's Chicago Office, which he led as co-managing shareholder and chairman for over 20 years. He also served as a member of the firm's executive committee for 17 years and as global vice president and chairman of Strategic Recruiting for the firm. He co-led the firm's Global Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice for 20 years and continues to serve as chairman emeritus of the group.
