City Attorney Wes Duncan Announces Petit Larceny Convictions for the Month of August
The Sparks City Attorney's Office has secured 21 misdemeanor theft convictions, resulting in the items being recovered or businesses being awarded restitution. The City Attorney's Office remains focused on the "Back Our Businesses" initiative.
Below are a few cases from August in which criminal prosecutors from the Sparks City Attorney's Office specifically sought firm consequences for intolerable actions. A Sparks Municipal Court judge imposed the following sentences after being found guilty:
On August 10, 2026, Jessica Seller was sentenced to serve 9 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that she stay away from Scheels and the Outlets at Legends, pay restitution in the amount of $1,010.87, and obey all laws. Originating from incidents that occurred on January 5th, 2025, December 14th, 2025, and January 10th, 2026.
On August 17, 2026, Kenneth Heffner was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that she stay away from Scheels, complete a Theft Awareness course, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on March 6th, 2026.
On August 17, 2026, Charles Leimbach was sentenced to 3 days in the Washoe County jail. Originating from an incident that occurred on May 3rd, 2026.
On August 6, 2026, Clinton Swaim was sentenced Sparks Recovery Court, to pay restitution in the amount of $15.98, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on July 16th, 2026.
On August 3, 2026, Brandon Kincade was sentenced to 180 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition, obey all laws, and stay away from Scheel's. Originating from an incident that occurred on August 1st, 2026.
On August 6, 2026, Carolyn Pierre was sentenced to 4 days in the Washoe County jail. Originating from an incident that occurred on February 12, 2026.
On August 5, 2026, Allen Standley was sentenced to 30 days in the Washoe County jail. Originating from an incident that occurred on July 31st, 2026.
On August 20, 2026, Sierra Kolbus was sentenced to 30 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition, obey all laws, and stay away from Sierre Trading Post, Marshalls, Homegoods. Originating from an incident that occurred on July 10th, 2026.
On August 12, 2026, Seleste Houston was sentenced to 60 active days in the Washoe County jail. Originating from an incident that occurred on August 11th, 2026.
On August 24, 2026, Steven Boyd was sentenced to 60 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition, obey all laws and stay away from Target. Originating from an incident that occurred on April 18th, 2026.
On August 18, 2026, Elsy Gonzalez-Alvarez was sentenced to 30 active days in the Washoe County jail, stay away from Walgreens, and obey all laws. Originating from an incident that occurred on August 14th, 2026.
On August 27, 2026, Britnee Carr-Piccioni was sentenced to 180 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that she pay restitution in the amount of $249, obey all laws, and stay away from Scheel's. Originating from an incident that occurred on August 14th, 2026.
On August 24, 2026, Andrew Martinez-Garcia was sentenced to 60 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition that he pay restitution in the amount of $378, obey all laws, and stay away from Home Depot. Originating from an incident that occurred on March 20th, 2026.
On August 24, 2026, Melissa Miller was sentenced to 20 days in the Washoe County jail, suspended on the condition pay restitution in the amount of $21.58, obey all laws, and stay away from Maverick. Originating from an incident that occurred on August 20th, 2026.
On August 3, 2026, Chantalle Boyd was sentenced to 2 active days in the Washoe County jail. Originating from an incident that occurred on June 19th, 2015.
Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan states, "Our office will continue to be proactive in trying to deter retail theft. We will continue our efforts in cracking down on retail theft."
