8:30 a.m. | 12/13/25 | Snowstorm and Road Condition Update

Dec. 13, 2025 (Peoria, IL) Steady snowfall across the City this morning is resulting in snow-covered roads and slick driving conditions. Public Works crews are actively treating and plowing main arterial routes and will continue focusing on these roadways throughout the day to maintain traffic flow and safety.

Forecasts continue to project total snowfall accumulations of 3-6 inches today, with the heaviest snowfall expected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Travel during this timeframe is strongly discouraged. Residents are urged to adjust travel plans and remain at home during peak snowfall, if possible. Snow is expected to taper off around 3 p.m.

Motorists who must travel should allow extra time, reduce speeds, and exercise extreme caution. Please be mindful of snowplows and give crews adequate space as they work to keep roadways passable and restore safe driving conditions.

Treatment of residential streets will resume once at least 2 inches of snow have accumulated, arterial routes have been cleared, and snowfall has ended.

Drivers are reminded to remain alert and use caution throughout the day, as conditions change. For more information about the City's winter operations, please call 309-494-8850.

Be aware of changing road conditions, stay alert, and have a great morning.
