Washington, DC, July 22, 2026 - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today welcomed the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation's approval of three bipartisan aviation measures that would enhance innovation, improve medication transparency for pilots and air traffic controllers and accelerate the safe deployment of advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The three bills that advanced out of committee include:
"Each of these measures addresses a critical aspect of aviation's future, from fostering technological innovation and maintaining U.S. competitiveness to improving transparency in the medical certification process and the AAM type certification process," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "We appreciate the committee's bipartisan leadership in advancing these bills and look forward to working with Congress to move them to the Senate floor and ultimately to the president's desk."
NBAA strongly supports all three measures as part of its ongoing advocacy to promote innovation, strengthen aviation safety, improve regulatory transparency and ensure the United States remains the global leader in aviation. The leadership of the NBAA Advanced Air Mobility Roundtable further assisted in shaping industry priorities reflected in the Aviation Innovation and Global Competitiveness Act.
Next, the bills move to the Senate floor for consideration by the entire chamber. NBAA will continue to urge congressional support as they move through the legislative process.
