America's Essential Hospitals is closely monitoring the executive orders signed by President Trump since he took office on Jan. 20, and will provide members with regular updates on the status of these orders as they are reviewed by federal courts.
Since the association's last update on June 24, there has been movement in several lawsuits brought against the administration's executive orders. First, a federal judge in Massachusetts ordered the National Institutes of Health to restore over 800 research grants cut because they related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as gender identity. Second, an additional federal court preliminarily enjoined the Department of Health and Human Services from implementing its reduction in force and reorganization plan. Twenty states also filed suit in federal court challenging the federal government's use of Medicaid data for immigration enforcement.
The association's latest review of the Trump administration's executive actions and their potential effects on essential hospitals is available for members.
