Bronze DofE Learners Take on Dartmoor Challenge

This year's DofE bronze learners collectively stretched and challenged their abilities through differing social groups, walking distances, remote environments and being away from home overnight.

Day 1 included a 10km walk from Bel Tor Car Park to the Buckfastleigh school site, in dry but warm conditions. During the evening camp, learners cooked a chili on a camp fire and then toasted marshmallows, before setting up tents and getting some well-earned rest.

Day 2 started with a cooked breakfast prepared by learners in the outdoor school kitchen, this included some freshly collected eggs from the school site. Learners set off from Shipley Bridge and again made headway back to the school site, another 10km but with more inclines and some contrasting windy wet weather.
