For 25 years, Visteon has redefined the cockpit experience. Now, through Visteon University, we're bringing the same spirit of innovation to talent development - starting with the launch of SCHOLAR.
SCHOLAR is a flagship program designed to bridge the gap between classrooms and boardrooms. In partnership with 26 engineering colleges across India, it will reach more than 6,000 students each year - equipping them with the skills and mindset to power the next era of mobility.
What makes SCHOLAR different?
Its "Classroom-to-Cockpit" model accelerates learning by combining:
Speaking to The Times of India about the program, Sivakumar Songappan, Vice President, Software Development Program Delivery, said, "While India has the largest number of engineering colleges in the world, there is immense scope for the curriculum to be ahead of the innovation curve in line with the dynamic needs of the automotive industry. This presents us with an opportunity to bridge the readiness gap between classrooms and boardrooms."
Rahul Singh, Vice President, Software Engineering, Infotainment & Cockpit Software, added, "Learning today must go beyond classrooms, and this change needs to happen with a constructive urgency. Through the Visteon SCHOLAR program, we are committed to democratizing access to cutting-edge learning programs, fast-tracking the pace of absorption, and deepening the relevance to real-world challenges. While colleges will continue strengthening foundations, we aim to provide mentorship and context to make India's engineering talent future-ready for the automotive industry. We're set to take this program far and wide within the country."
Since launch, SCHOLAR has already reached over 4,200 students and received 2,500+ registrations - a strong signal of India's next generation of engineers ready to take the wheel.
The cars of 2030 will be built by the students of today. And with SCHOLAR, we are making sure that those students are ready, equipped, and inspired.
