TPI Composites, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine blades, is restarting operations at its Newton facility. After ceasing production in 2021, the company plans to invest $3.2 million to renovate the facility and update equipment and technology.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Board approved a $500,000 forgivable loan through the High Quality Jobs (HQJ) program to support the project. The investment will create 320 jobs, with qualifying positions offering a wage of $23.81 per hour.
This marks a significant economic boost for Newton, bringing high-quality jobs and revitalizing local manufacturing.
