Turn Lane Project Scheduled to Begin on U.S. Highway 85 and Crook City Road in Spearfish

SPEARFISH, S.D. - Beginning Tuesday, April 7, 2026, crews will begin constructing left-turn lanes on U.S. Highway 85 at Crook City Road, located south of Interstate 90 (exit 17) in Spearfish.

Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for both lanes of traffic. A signed over-width detour will be placed on U.S. Highway 14A and I-90.

The prime contractor on this $1.4 million project is Complete Concrete, Inc. of Rapid City, SD. The overall project completion date is Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.
