MEMA ALERT: Extended (Time) - Flood Advisory Until 8:30 PM HST This Evening For East Maui
MEMA Alert...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Northeast portions of the island of Maui in Maui County,
from Huelo to Hana.
* WHEN...Until 830 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 636 PM HST, radar continues to show heavy rain over
portions of northeast Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1
to 2 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Nahiku, Keanae, Hana, Wailua, Hamoa and Kailua.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
