Due to Hall County's potential for winter weather beginning Friday morning through the weekend, Hall County Government facilities, including the government center, courthouse, community centers, campgrounds, landfill, compactor sites, animal shelter and libraries, will be closed Friday, Jan. 10.
At this time, the landfill, compactor sites, community centers, libraries, and animal shelter will reopen at normal business hours on Saturday, Jan. 11; however, Hall County will continue to monitor the weather closely and communicate any necessary changes to operations. All other Hall County facilities will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, Jan. 13.
"The safety of our employees and citizens is our top priority," Hall County Administrator Zach Propes said. "We encourage all citizens and staff to remain weather-aware until the impending storms are clear from the Hall County area and to report any hazardous issues that could be a danger to the community."
Anyone wishing to report hazardous roadway conditions or other non-emergency issues should contact Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.
Weather updates, facility closures and alerts will be posted online at hallcounty.org, and citizens are encouraged to sign up for Hall County's Citizen's Alert System to receive free emergency and non-emergency alerts.
Anyone needing assistance, such as overnight shelter accommodations or daytime warming centers, can refer to Hall County's Community Resource Guide for a list of local organizations that may be able to provide support during the inclement weather.
As a reminder, many County services are available online, including the renewal of a vehicle tag, payment of taxes and more.
