Amo Statement on Republicans’ Passage of Trump’s Third Bad Budget

Washington, DC - TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI) issued the following statement on the Republicans' passage of Trump's Third Bad Budget:

"Trump's latest bad budget runs up another $95 billion on America's credit card to pay for his illegal war of choice in Iran while doing nothing to lower costs, raise wages, meaningfully protect farmers, or make Americans safer. And, Republicans just rubber-stamped it.

This latest budget exemplifies Trump's gross negligence. It pilfers from the American people and mortgages our future - and that of our grandchildren - to fund Trump's illegal war with Iran, empower partisan hacks to peddle his election lies, and bail out farmers who are only in trouble because Trump hammered them with terrible tariffs.

Republicans keep approving Trump's reckless spending over and over again - this bill will add $1.8 trillion to the deficit next year alone!

I've vigorously opposed each of Trump's bad budgets and voted no on this latest deficit-busting bill. I will keep fighting for a budget that actually puts the American people first, lowers costs, raises wages, and protects our fiscal and national security."
