Treadwell Arena speed skating clinics start September 7

Treadwell Arena will offer drop-in Speed Skating Clinics on select Sundays throughout the season, beginning with free "Try Speed Skating" sessions on September 7, 21, and 28. The hour-long clinics will take place at 2:45 p.m. and cost $15 after September 28. Skaters can register online at bit.ly/registerCBJparks (click on the "Treadwell Arena" tab) in advance or drop in at their convenience. Short track speed skates are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Skaters must be at least 12 years of age. No speed skating experience is necessary, although participants should have intermediate skating skills, including the ability to skate comfortably and perform a snowplow stop. Helmets are required during the clinic. A limited number are available to borrow, or skaters are welcome to bring their own.
