Camp Inferno, a specialized program designed to introduce teenage girls to the world of firefighting, is now accepting registrations. This year's camp will be held on February 5, 6, and 7, 2026.
This camp aims to immerse participants in authentic firefighter challenges that test both mental and physical strength. Through hands-on activities, students will build teamwork, confidence, leadership, and an appreciation for the skills required in the fire service.
Participants will take part in supervised activities such as live fire exercises, rappelling, and ladder climbing. All training is closely monitored to ensure a safe learning environment.
Campers will receive T-shirts, gift bags, and all necessary gear for the program. Snacks will also be offered at the camp. On Friday, participants will enjoy a pizza dinner followed by a campfire and s'mores. Saturday's lunch will feature hamburgers.
Attendance for the entire program is required. All Camp Inferno sessions will be held at the Public Safety Training Facility, 3575 S. Avenue 4E.
Eligible participants include women and girls ages 14-19, currently enrolled in school. Registration packets are available online or can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall, 1 City Plaza. Completed packets must be returned to the Parks and Recreation office.
