WATCH: Congressman Tom Tiffany Says Trump is "Doing What He Believes is Best" Amid Sky-High Gas Prices and Record Low Approval
Kjeldsen: "So you would approve [of Trump]?" Tiffany: "There's good things that have happened to the people of America, including here in Wisconsin."
Asked in an interview with Gray TV's Vanessa Kjeldsen yesterday if he approves of President Trump's destructive and cost-raising policies, Congressman Tom Tiffany repeatedly refused to criticize Trump, saying, "The president is doing what he believes is best for the United States of America."
When pressed about the president's sinking approval rating - now just 38% in Wisconsin - Tiffany went further, saying, "There's good things that have happened to the people of America, including here in Wisconsin."
"There's nothing Donald Trump could say or do that would be too far for his #1 footsoldier Congressman Tom Tiffany, who worked side-by-side with Trump in Washington to rubber-stamp the war, the tariffs, and the attacks on health care that are sending Wisconsinites' costs soaring," said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. "Even now, as Wisconsin voters overwhelmingly disapprove of Trump's chaotic, high-cost agenda, Congressman Tiffany can't name one area where he disagrees with the president. Wisconsin families know they can't afford a MAGA lackey in the governor's office, which is why they'll reject him in November."
Congressman Tiffany's comments came on the same day as 2026 matched the 2022 record for most days with the national average for gas above $4/gallon, thanks to Trump's war in Iran that Tiffany voted five times to continue. In January, Congressman Tiffany bragged that 2026 would be the "cheapest year for gas since 2020." Bad timing, Congressman.
