I-5 Connectors to SR-78 Closed tonight 3/25

SAN DIEGO - Caltrans will close the northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) connector ramps to both westbound State Route 78 (SR-78)/Vista Way and eastbound SR-78. The closure for the northbound I-5 to westbound SR-78/Vista Way is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The northbound I-5 to eastbound SR-78 will be closed from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Additionally, the connector from eastbound SR-78 to northbound I-5 will also be closed on Wednesday, March 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for paving operations.

The connector from southbound I-5 to SR-78 will have a partial closure affecting lane #2.

Detour Northbound I-5 to SR-78

Northbound I-5 motorists may continue north and take the Oceanside Boulevard off-ramp, turn right to southbound I-5, and proceed to southbound I-5 to SR-78/Vista Way.

Detour Eastbound SR-78 to northbound I-5

Motorists may continue on eastbound SR-78, exit on El Camino Real, turn left, and continue to Oceanside Blvd. Then turn left on Oceanside Blvd and continue towards the northbound I-5 on ramp.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
