Last week, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) sent a letter to Fort Bliss leadership commending them as the military installation was recognized by the Department of Defense as a recipient of the 2026 Commander in Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence. Fort Bliss was also recognized by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command as the Army's "Best Garrison" for Fiscal Year 2026.
The letter can be found in its entirety below or here:
Dear Major General Taylor, Colonel Soyka, and Leaders of Fort Bliss,
I write to congratulate you on being recognized by the Department of Defense as a recipient of the 2026 Commander in Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence, and for your recognition by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command as the Army's "Best Garrison" for Fiscal Year 2026!
I share your pride in seeing Fort Bliss recognized as the top installation out of 104 Army installations across the country. This distinction comes as no surprise to me. Time and again, Fort Bliss has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence and service that truly reflects why it is "Better at Bliss!"
As a lifelong El Pasoan, it has been a privilege to witness the continued growth and evolution of Fort Bliss and its enduring partnership with our community. From the expansion of the Freedom Crossing shopping center, to innovative advancements in military construction such as the development of 3D-printed barracks, to the installation's vital role in supporting Army-wide mobilization and readiness through its world-class ranges and training complexes, Fort Bliss continues to set the standard for military installations worldwide.
Congratulations once again to the leaders, staff, soldiers, civilians, and family members whose hard work and dedication have contributed to the success of Fort Bliss. This honor is a testament to your extraordinary service. Our community proudly shares in celebrating this achievement.
