Meeting of Interdepartmental Commission to support Russia’s participation in the G20

The priorities and programme of the US Presidency this leading international forum for economic cooperation were discussed in detail. The 2026 programme is structured around key areas such as economic growth, reducing regulatory burdens, energy abundance, and innovative development. Particular attention was given to ensuring Russia's interests in negotiations on trade, financial stability, energy security, and critical minerals, as well as to lowering barriers in the economy, investment and labour markets, and advancing artificial intelligence.

The importance of coordinated and constructive work within the G20 Background information Group of Twenty - G20 was emphasised, including close interaction with the US Presidency and cooperation with BRICS Background information BRICS partners and the countries of the Global Majority.

As a result of the meeting, specialised working groups were established to address the main areas of the G20 negotiation agenda, and further steps for interdepartmental coordination were outlined for drafting decisions for the G20 Summit, scheduled for December 14-15, 2026 in Miami.
