Newark, NJ - January 22, 2025 - The City of Newark will continue collecting natural (non-artificial) Christmas trees through Wednesday, March 26. Residents discarding trees should first remove all ornaments and lights.

Residents should dispose of the tree when it begins dropping needles. Dried-out trees are a fire hazard and should not be left in the home, in the garage, or placed outside against the home.

The Division of Recycling is providing the following schedule for tree collections:

· Zone A:

o Wednesday, February 19

o Wednesday, March 19

· Zone B:

o Wednesday, January 22

o Wednesday, February 26

o Wednesday, March 26

Residents should place their trees at their curbside by 6 a.m. on the morning of their scheduled pick-up.
