City Facility Closures

The City of Lewisville announces the closure of some facilities this weekend due to the incoming inclement weather. The City also wants to remind everyone two publicly-accessible warming centers will be open to help people in need.

CITY FACILITY CLOSURES

• Thrive
• Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA)
• Lake Park
• Lewisville Grand Theater (the Acoustic Jam session scheduled for tonight will happen as planned)
• Lewisville Public Library
• Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center

A decision on if/when these facilities will reopen on Monday, Jan. 26 will be made over the weekend and is dependent upon the weather conditions. Announcements will be posted on cityoflewisville.com and on the City's Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Warming Center Information

Locations are:

Frederick P. Herring Parks & Recreation Center, 191 Civic Circle
Salvation Army Lewisville, 880 Fox Avenue

There are no age restrictions, and these warming centers are open to anyone who needs to use them, but there are some rules at each location. Those rules are:

Frederick P. Herring Parks & Recreation Center, 191 Civic Circle (overnight warming center)

• Hours: Continually open from Friday, Jan. 23, 5 p.m. through Noon, Monday, Jan. 26
• Pets are allowed on a leash
• Outside food and beverage is allowed

Salvation Army Lewisville, 880 Fox Avenue

• Hours: Friday, Jan. 23, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 25, service plus lunch, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
• Service Animals only
• No outside food and beverage
• No weapons

Building Services and permits

The Building Services Department has put in place instructions on permit applications during the inclement weather. Use this link for additional information about the permit process.

Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center

The front desk at the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center will close on Friday, January 23, at 11:30 a.m. and will remain closed through Sunday afternoon.

Depending on weather conditions, the front desk may reopen on Monday during normal business hours. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

Thrive closure

Due to anticipated inclement weather, Thrive will close early on Friday, Jan.23, at 5 p.m. The facility will remain closed throughout the weekend and is currently expected to reopen on Monday, Jan. 26, with a potential delayed opening, depending on weather and road conditions.

Lake Park RV Campground

Due to freezing temperatures the water at Lake Park RV Campground will be shut off on Friday, Jan 23, at 12 p.m. and will remain shut off until Tuesday. This will affect all RV sites and the north restrooms. Water service will continue in the south restrooms for customers throughout the weekend.
