Fireboat San Rafael Training
US Coast Guard (USCG) Helicopter 6539 lowering rescue basket onto the deck of Fireboat San Rafael (FBSR).
On May 19th, FBSR - Station 55C crew coordinated training with USCG Copter 6539 on emergency operations basket ops/hoist operations. The opportunity allowed new Coast Guard Flight Mechanics to practice their craft as well as our crew working with aircraft simulating taking a patient from the boat to the helicopter for transport to a local hospital.
