Each October, communities across the country mark Fire Prevention Week. This year's theme - "Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home" - reminds us that everyday devices like phones, laptops, and e-bikes can pose fire risks if not used or charged properly.
In Palo Alto, prevention is a team effort. Firefighters and City staff play a role, but the most powerful changes often happen at home and in neighborhoods - through everyday habits, preparedness steps, and neighbors looking out for one another.
