The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will be in Brussels today and tomorrow (3-4 April) to attend the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting.
The ministerial meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss key strategic issues for the Alliance, also in preparation for the NATO Summit in The Hague on 24-25 June. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation highlighted the importance of the ministerial meeting in strengthening dialogue and coordination with Washington and other allies to address the numerous international crises. He also emphasised the need for Europe to take on greater responsibilities in contributing to collective security.
The meeting will be structured into four sessions and will also include the participation of NATO's four Indo-Pacific partner countries (Australia, South Korea, Japan, and New Zealand), as well as the NATO-Ukraine Council with Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will also take part in the discussions on strengthening European defence and enhancing EU-NATO cooperation.
On the sidelines of the NATO meeting, Minister Tajani will hold talks in Brussels today with the European Commissioner for Trade, Maroš Šefčovič, at a time when the European Union must finalise its response to the US Administration's recent trade tariff announcements.
