Senator Marshall Releases Statement on $12 Billion Aid Package to Farmers

Washington - On Monday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), released the following statement after President Trump announced $12 billion in one-time bridge payments to American farmers through the new Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) Program.

"President Trump is ensuring our great farmers get quick relief as our new trade deals and renewed market-access efforts take hold," said Senator Marshall. "After years of crippling tariffs, non-tariff barriers, and soaring inflation under the disastrous Biden Administration - which failed to enforce past agreements, drove input prices to record highs, and delivered zero new deals - this bridge support is vital to help farmers gear up for next season across Kansas and the nation."

The FBA Program will provide broad relief to U.S. row-crop farmers who grow: Barley, Chickpeas, Corn, Cotton, Lentils, Oats, Peanuts, Peas, Rice, Sorghum, Soybeans, Wheat, Canola, Crambe, Flax, Mustard, Rapeseed, Safflower, Sesame, and Sunflower.

Farmers who qualify for the program can expect payments to be released no later than February 28, 2026.

These bridge payments come in response to temporary trade market disruptions and increased production costs that continue to impact producers following four years of failed Biden Administration policies. The assistance is designed to help stabilize operations and provide certainty while historic investments from the Working Families Tax Cuts Act begin to take effect.
